They were anything but traditional. They greeted their guests on entrance, together. They walked down the aisle hand in hand. They got ready at the same villa, laughed, danced the night away and jumped into the pool hand in hand at midnight. They also asked for the most traditional sofreh aghd of all. They even asked that it’d be put on a rug, and not a platform, as it was done traditionally. They soar together, but celebrate their roots together, too. Their wedding day was no different. Here’s to all weddings being true to the individual core and rhythm of the relationship it is celebrating. Xx, M

Santorini was it. Ayda saw an image of an intimate wedding in Santorini, of a couple in love, long before she was engaged to Nima. That couple in that image happened to be one of our dearest couples who married in Santorini in 2015. Fast forward 4 years, and we were back in Santorini to celebrate Ayda & Nima’s love, along with their nearest and dearest, whom all know a Santorini Sunset now. How incredible is it when two people not only come together to turn a celebration to a dream, but also watch their love become a vessel for a once in a lifetime memory for others? I hope you enjoy a glimpse into their big day, and I hope for you too, sunsets on a wedding day are watched, experienced and felt. Xx, M All Images: Barb Simkova for Tara McMullen Photography
